This wooden bench was actually used at the Ruskin College for
reading and studying. The student would sit on the lower seat, facing the upper
desk. With books or other study materials on the upper level, the student was
able to concentrate on her/her lessons.
The bench is surprisingly comfortable, at least for short
periods of time. It must have really helped focus the student's attention during
long study sessions. |
